Saitama Seibu Lions is a Japanese professional baseball team that belongs to the Pacific League. The headquarters are located in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture, for both the 1st and 2nd team.
The 1st team's stadium is the MetLife Dome and the 2nd team's is Seibu Daini Stadium on the same site. The predecessor, Seitetsu Clippers, was founded in 1950 based in Fukuoka Prefecture. After that, after several changes of the parent company, the name of the team, and the relocation of the base to Saitama Prefecture, since 2008 the current name of the team is Saitama Seibu Lions.
From the 1980s to the 2000s, most of the Lions, who remained stable in A-class, remained in the stable class, and in the first year they were renamed in 2008, Lions won the league title and beat the Yomiuri Giants to become the best in Japan.
